On Walden Pond

We went to Walden Pond over Memorial Day weekend. It was a good, flat hike for the kids and they enjoyed playing in the pond at the end. It is a beautiful place and I've always wanted to go there since I studied Thoreau at Keene. Here is a picture of where his cabin stood.

Naughty Girl

I saw Josie coming out of the bathroom with a tissue. She sat down on the kitchen floor and started rubbing her legs with the tissue. I looked down and she had colored her legs with blue marker. This was an hour after she took sunscreen and sprayed herself in the face! I am going to watch her very carefully now.

Spring Chicks

This year the robin nested in our hanging flowerpot. The kids liked seeing the blue eggs and robins cracked out of their eggs. After a few short hours after hatching, two robins disappeared. I was really upset because I was waiting for them to hatch and were gone when I showed John. I think Moe got to them because we saw one in our garage a week later. One bird survived so I continued to check on him until he fledged out of his nest. It only took a few weeks. Last year the birds nested in Connor's fort and in the bushes by the driveway the year before.

T-BALL

Connor played on the Colorado Rockies for T-ball this spring. He had a lot of fun. In the beginning, Connor really did not fully understand the game. At practice the ball came to him and the coach said his name to get his attention. Connor walked by the ball and all the way up to the coach at home plate and said, "What?".
He sure made a lot of progress though. Last weekend, he played really well and earned an MVP card for the game. He fielded many ground balls.
In one of these pictures Connor grabbed the ball from another player and threw it to first base. That was at one of his early games though.
